چکیده

Fuzzy logic is rapidly expanding its development scope in various sciences [1]. Definitely, the oil industry is not an exception and interpretation techniques, which are based on fuzzy logic are now being used in this industry as well[2]. Petrophysics, determining reservoir characteristics, enhance oil recovery, drilling and well stimulation are some area in oil industry at which applications of fuzzy logic is used [3].This study was carried out with the aim of determining reservoir rock lithology. A formation of an Iranian reservoir, i.e. Dashtak Formation (14525 to 16325 feet) was evaluated by using the data obtained from petrophysical logs of an exploration well and through the use of fuzzy logic. For this purpose, all information including petrophysical logs, drilling and geological reports were used. In this study, the only available logs of the intended structure were gamma, sonic and density. The formation lithology was determined by combining these logs through the fuzzy logic, and by comparing to drilling and geological data. It was found that the estimation were more than 92% accurate.
