GREEN AND EFFICIENT SYNTHESIS OF NAPHTHOPYRANOPYRIMIDINES CATALYZED BY SIO2 NANOPARTICLES UNDER SOLVENT-FREE CONDITIONS

A green and efficient one pot, three component protocol for synthesis of naphthopyranopyrimidines by cyclocondensation of β-naphthol, arylaldehyde and 1,3-dimethylbarbutyric acid using SiO2 as a beneficial catalyst with high catalytic activity under solvent-free conditions at 110 °C is described. The present approach offers several advantages such as shorter reaction times, simple work-up, excellent yields, non-toxicity of the catalyst, and solvent-free conditions.
