خلاصه مقاله:
Hollow fibers are among the most widely accepted modules in the gas separation industry using membrane permeators. This study presents the results of our investigations on the effect of adoption of two prominent numerical methods for solving ordinary differential equations used in modeling gas separation hollow fiber membranes. The results reveal that both Rung-Kutta and finite element method provide good agreement in validity with experimental data. Comparison between the examined methods indicates that finite element method offers more accurate predictions with greater interval convergence. The findings demonstrate the importance of adoption of appropriate numerical methods as well as the advantages and benefits of using finite element method for comprehensive modeling and analysis of membrane separation processes in order to achieve better predictions
