چکیده

This work is focused on improvement of Mechanical properties of PBT/ABS blends by adding CaCO3 nanoparticles, in the absence of any compatibilizer. Nanocomposites based on PBT/ABS containing 2, 5, 8 Phr of nano-CaCO3 were prepared by melt compounding using twin-screw extruder followed by injection molding. The mechanical properties were characterized, and the morphology was studied using scanning electron microscopy. The results of experiments indicated that the maximum Tensile modulus was achieved by adding 8 Phr of nano-CaCO3 which was 39% greater than that of PBT/ABS and the maximum impact strength was attained by adding 2 Phr of nano-CaCO3 which was 13% superior compared to pure PBT/ABS.
