A Reconfigurable Optical Gate Based On Four Wave Mixing In Semiconductor Optical Amplifier

By using four wave mixing, the nonlinear characteristics of semiconductor optical amplifier, an all optical 3-input majority gate, with a single semiconductor optical amplifier, has been suggested and demonstrated. This gate can convert to 2-input AND or 2-input OR gate with impose 0 and 1 to third input respectively. The simulation of this gate is performed with optisystem software and 10 Gbps maximum operation is reported.
