Architecture; from Form to Meaning

Architectural confrontation to the spiritual crises in Iran and the West in the contemporary era, especially from seventies, requires more investigations about the interaction influence of a built space on man’s mentalities and behaviors. In this research by using descriptive methods and data collection – library, evidence and related documents studies - an attempt has been made to analyze related components, principles and paradigms to upgrade location semantic side in architecture.To achieve this aim, the definitions of effective components of each phenomenon, including architectural phenomenon, experts ‘views and different classifications about these components are presented at the beginning of the research. And finally, after studying the relation between form and meaning, an effort has been dedicated to offer some suggestions and approaches for improving meaning elements in architecture, and symbolizing meaning by artist in an artistic work and then decoding these symbols and meanings by readers are introduced.
