چکیده

The geochemical composition of surface soils and potential bedrocks in Baghejar area has been investigated to determine soil origin and evaluate environmental aspects. Baghejar plain is composed of the soils and deposits derived by the weathering and transportation of different bedrocks from northern mountains. These rocks consist of andesitic to basaltic lavas and volcano-sedimentary rocks with different sedimentary rocks composed of alternation of marl, sandstone, tuffaceous lime stoneperidotites and serpentinites produced by their alterations. Baghejar soils have high concentration of Mg (25000-31000), Cr (995-2010), Co (55-90) and Ni (700-1905) and low Al (28000-51000), K (3000-10000), Na (1700-7900), Ce (10-22), Li (9-16) and Zn (19-30). These characteristics are very similar to the composition of serpentinite and peridotite rocks and completely differ from other lithologies, so that it could be inferred that these rocks are the major parental materials for Baghejar soils. There are strong correlation between major and trace elements of soil samples indicating geogenetic identical origin. Anthropological processes don’t have significant effect on the soil composition so that all samples (include natural, agricultural and residential) show the same geochemical arrays. The content of Ni, Cr and Co is higher than maximal permissible concentration for environmental issues and could be regarded as potential risk in related topics.
