چکیده

Some think that success in education depends on the quality of books and the teachers'competence. This is really important but we have ignored a great fact: that students' ability,interest, and hard work are also important which _ if not available _ will frustrate the othertwo factors. Learning is transactional, a kind of interaction between the students and theteacher (Kelly, 2008). It is an obvious fact that cooperation of the student with the teacher inthe process of teaching and his motivation to do so is of great importance. Motivation is boththe cause and the result of learning. It both enhances learning and is reinforced as a result oflearning (Nelson-Le Gall, 1992). In this article, motivation is defined, the points a teachershould keep in mind when teaching are reviewed, and at the end, some guidelines formotivating students are offered.
