چکیده
There is plethora of language teaching textbooks regularly published in the market .Inlanguage teaching. It seems that the key factor is the decision on which language textbooksare most useful for students in particular settings. However, it is observed that researchersapproach this issue from different, often opposing and seemingly incompatibleperspectives with each bringing new insights. This studyaims at providing a comprehensive, detailed review of thirty research articles on therole of teachers attitudes about text evaluation.Chambers (1997) holds the selection of useful text book is a demanding and difficultprocess. Many factors such as ‘professional, financial, and political investment need to betaken into account. Moreover it takes a lot of time, and it is important to learn more about therelationship among textbooks, teachers and students (Sheldon,1988). The Language teachers’views of their classroom dynamics and their students’ needs shape their evaluation oflanguage textbooks. A detailed evaluation will help to determine to what extent the text bookis consistent with the curriculum, what aspects of language are emphasized and whether itmeets the students’ needs (Cunningsworth, 1995).There are different options for evaluation tobe accomplished among them are , different checklists suggested by different authors andresearchers who are professionals in their academic fields (Daoud & Celce-Murcia, 1979;Breen & Candlin, 1987; Sheldon, 1988; Grant, 1987; Cunningsworth, 1995) and teacherreport that is going to be considered in this paper.کلیدواژه ها
