Translation: from teaching to evaluation and its problems

Translation research has been of interest to both practitioners and theoreticians inthe field. As far as the practical side of the coin is concerned, translation problemshave been studied with an eye to the role of inter-lingual and intra-lingual transfer.Translation is the rendering of text from one language into another. It not onlyrequires an expert level of proficiency in reading and writing in both languages,but the ability to capture the nuances, style, tone, and intent of the originalmessage.This mixed method research study aimed to highlight the problems of EFLacademicians concerning their current translation practices, their attitudes towardsthe use of various translation tools, and offer suggestions for more qualitytranslation practices.
