Each year, numerous events are happening in the oil and gas industry that one of the mainreasons for the occurrence of these events is the lack of attention to process safetymanagement systems.Nowadays by the tremendous progress of chemical industry, increament in production andincreasing in investment, caused this industry focus on the safety aspect because if accidentoccurs, the magnitude of hazards go up and the harm of that is irrecoverable.Processing plantsare in towns and many employees are actually working, so special attention is needed.Theleakage of flammable materials is one of the significant hazards that exist in huge oil industryespecially in petrochemicals, and also a serious threat for staff and environments.Accordingly, Paying special attention to the behavior of fire and explosive chemicals andconsequence modeling Especially in fire Can have a significant impact on the safetymanagement process. In this study, the leakage of Methanol from a tank in a petrochemicalcorporation was modeled. The aim of this modeling is to investigate different potential firebehaviors and consequence modeling of the explosion overpressure. This leakage wasconducted in different climates and the powerful software PHAST is used for modeling. Theresults of modeling represent that the largest thermal radiation of fire for environment andstaff has occurred in summer, winter has devoted maximum explosion overpressure.
