چکیده

An important measure of any project is its successful completion. There are several opinions regarding project success. One of this options is to use risk management which can decrease the probability of project failure. In a real-life project, various risks exist where they not only prevent a project to be completed within budget and time limit, but could also affect quality, safety and operation. Risk assessment is critical component of risk management because it can effect on project results and consequently on project success. There are various techniques to perform risk analysis. Some of these techniques are qualitative in nature and are flexible enough to be utilized under numerous situations. Qualitative techniques can be applied as a preliminary stage to screen significant risk events. This paper is intended to highlight advantages and disadvantages of each technique in order to define a suitable method based on project situations. The common methods are presented in this paper which are, risk matrix, Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), Monte Carlo Simulation, Fuzzy Logic, Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) and Fuzzy FMEA. The result of this research can help project manager to achieve much more realistic project objectives.
