Simulation of Solar Radiation Effects on Pollution Dispersion of a Street Canyon Aiming to Improve Urban Design and Climate

چکیده مقاله:

The Solar radiation heats face and ground in canyon. The objective of this study is to investigate the impacts of the street canyon thermal conductance on pollutant dispersion. This study considers models cubic, cylindrical and conical for buildings and investigates natural ventilation by variation on building's shape, on wind flow and pollutant dispersion within an urban environment. The results show that heating surfaces lead to strong buoyancy forces close to surfaces receiving solar radiation. The model sittings of validation study accomplishes by comparing the simulation wind field in a canyon with wind tunnel data. The results indicate that In the noon the flow structure is extended to a large vortex in canyon, therefore there is not accumulation of pollution on a special side and pollutants will be emitted within the canyon. Also the results indicate that concentration pollutants decrease in conical model.
