Comparing between psychological health of veterans' wives and ordinaries' wives who had refered to Imam Hosein Hospital and Sadr Hospital

چکیده

It is quite obvious that mental disorder and the stress Caused by war and the husbands being away from the family have as impact on the other members of the family.This is an attempt to compare the psychological health of the wives of the veterans suffering from mental disorder with those non veterans patient suffering from the same problem.32wives of the former referring to Sadr hospital and 32 wives of the latter group referring to Emam hossein hospital were selected through a sampling method . They were all tested through a general health questionnaire GHQ-28 , testing four features : somatic symptoms , anxiety , social function and depression . Later on a demographic questionnaire was also used to gather information . The results of data analyses showed that there is no significant difference between the two group as far as somatic symptoms , depression and socialfunction are concerned but as far as anxiety is concerned a significant difference showed up. In other word the wives of veterans suffering from mental disorder were more anxious than the wives of non veterans patients suffering from mental disorders.
