چکیده

Aggressive behavior with a negative impact on both families and societies is common factor in ADHD children. This study describes the sensory-processing of a sample of children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and examines the relationship between sensory processing problems and aggressive behavior. Fifty eight children (41males, 17females) clinically diagnosed with attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder, participated in this study. Ages ranged from 6 to 13 years (mean age = 8.06 years, SD= 1.59). Findings indicated that sensory seeking, audio filtering and low energy were the most common sensory problems among ADHD children. The results of this study also revealed that sensory processing problems is associated with aggressive behavior(r = –.49, p ≤ .01). Stepwise linear regression analysis was performed to determine the predictive power of sensory processing problems variables on ADHD children’s aggressive behavior and accounted for nearly 63% of the variance in ADHD child regression score. These findings may have implications for a better evaluation and treatment plan in ADHD children, especially for behavioral problems like aggression
