چکیده

Internal combustion engines generate exhaust gases atextremely high temperatures and pressures. As theseheated gases exit through the exhaust valve, the valve andvalve seat insert achieve comparable temperatures. Toavoid damage, heat is transferred from the exhaust valveto the valve seat insert as they come into contact with eachother during the opening and closing cycle. Estimation ofthermal contact conductance (TCC) has great advantagesfor thermal control application in engine. In this paper, theextrapolation method has been used for computing ofthermal contact conductance. Linear and nonlinear systemidentification are used for estimation of temperatures atcontacting surfaces of two co-axial cylinders, as theexhaust valve and its seat and the best model is presented
