چکیده مقاله:

Increasing usage of wind turbine in power system could affect aspects of network such as stability and power quality. Analysis of stability and power quality within weak or local networks at the time of wind turbine starting is an important issue. A soft-starter is applied in order to damping transient of wind turbine witch is connected to weak AC network. Control system and filter are two important parts of soft-starter witch influence on damping transient directly. Our consideration is focused on transients that are produced before and after connection of wind turbine to the local network. In this paper transient improvement of fixed-speed wind turbine by using soft-starter has been accomplished that applies simple control algorithm and need not to use complicated state estimation manner, besides shunt passive filter is considered. Eventually performance of the control system and response of the induction generator to starting transient in two situations, presence of soft-starter and without it, in a typical network by PSCAD/EMTDC is simulated and analyzed
