چکیده

In this paper, horizontal slices method is used for optimum designing of reinforcement length. In this method, slippery mass in the presence of reinforcement divided into n- horizontal slices parallel to reinforcements’ direction. Inter-slice forces are computed using Spencer basic rules. Earthquake load is affected on the center of each slice by horizontal and vertical pseudo-static coefficient. In the present method, unlike the other existing methods all of the critical slip surfaces are examined and are reinforced. So the probability of presence the critical slip surface is minimum. In this paper, particle swarm optimization method to produce non-circular slip surface in soil slopes reinforced with a safety factor of 1 is used. Comparing the results of Particle Swarm optimization algorithm with the results of other investigators shows that the here utilized method is more critical, thus the design of reinforcement with the proposed method is more reliable.
