A gold nanoparticle-modified graphite pencil electrode (AuNP-GPE) is prepared just by immersing a bare GPE in AuNP solution, followed by heating for 40 min. The bare and modified GPEs are characterized by FE-SEM imaging and cyclic voltammetry. Gold nanoparticles on the surface Cytochrome c (MW 12,400) is primarily known as an electron carrying protein in the inner mitochondria. Direct electron transfer (DET) between redox proteins (spatially enzymes) and electrodes found the basis for third generation biosensors. A direct electron teransfer(DET) reaction between enzyme and electrode can yield an important informatin on the thermodynamics and kinetics of its biological redox processes. A variety of pioneering techniques have been utilized for the immobilization of enzymes on electrode surface. In this study Cytochrome c selected to evaluation of direct electrone tranfer in Au nanopartice- modified gerphit pensil electrod(GEP) as a sampel metalloprotein.
