چکیده مقاله:

In the present study, a meaningful comparison of the four organic physical solvents water, Methanol, PropyleneCarbonate and N-methyl-pyrrolidone, for the case of carbon dioxide removal from CO2/CH(4) mixture in gasliquidhollow fiber membrane contactors has been investigated. In order to calculate the rates of mass transferthrough the membrane and axial and radial diffusion inside the shell, through the membrane, and within the tubeside of the membrane contactor, a computational mass transfer (CMT) model was used. The calculated CO(2)removal efficiencies for different solvent were compared. It is shown that methanol solvent can successfully beused for CO(2) removal. It is found that The distribution coefficient or Henry's law coefficient is the mostimportant parameter for the removal of CO2 using organic physical absorbent since it shows the absorptionpower of solvent. On the other hand, the CO2 diffusion coefficient in absorbent is observed to affect theremoval efficiency deeply. Relative absorption rate of CO2 using methanol absorbent is in the range of 2.2 to 3in comparison with the case of water absorbent. Also, NMP absorbent performance is more efficient at highpressure.
