چکیده مقاله:

Arid and semi-arid soils contain high amount of soluble salts that have a great effect on potassium recovery. Thus, considering the importance of potassium as an essential nutrient for plants, this present study investigated the potassium recovery affected by sodium chloride and different pore volumes. The experiment was conducted as factorial based on CRD, using salt treatments including sodium chloride and control, three treatments of leaching volume (0.25, 0.75, and 2 PV) and three depth treatments (5, 10 and 20 cm), in three replicates, under laboratory conditions using soil columns. Potassium recovery was measured at the end of experiment. The results showed that the recovery of potassium in the soil treated with sodium chloride was lower than the control soil. Moreover, with increasing volume of leaching, the amount of potassium recovery decreased, significantly. As result, the leaching volume of 0.25 and 2 PV showed the highest and the lowest percentage of potassium recovery, respectively. Moreover, with increasing the soil depth, the percentage of potassium recovery in both soil treated with NaCl and control increased but it was lower in soil treated with NaCl related to control in all depths. The findings of this study revealed that it is necessary to pay more attention to the role of salinity and volume of leaching on potassium in soil.
