Superhydrophobic RTV silicone rubber coatings have been indicated better performance than regular silicone rubber coatings in sever environmental conditions. They can prevent from dust accumulation and reduce ice adhesion during winter storms. Water droplets on these coatings can pick up dirt particles and remove contamination on the surfaces of insulators. This paper evaluate the role of Alumina Trihydrate (ATH) on hydrophobicity, water durability and erosion resistance of superhydrophobic silicone rubber coatings. The measurement of hydrophobicity and track resistant determined that ATH can improve these properties in superhydrophobic RTV coatings for insulators
