چکیده

. In this study, a concept of Collocation Method (CM) and Homotpy Analysis Method (HAM) are introduced and used to obtain a simple and accurate solution for predicting the temperature distribution in a porous fin which is exposed to uniform magnetic field. The obtained result from CM and HAM is compared with boundary value problem (BVP) as a numerical method for validation. The Maxwell equations have been used, and Roseland approximation for radiation heat transfer and Darcy model for simulating the flow in porous medium have been adapted. To study the thermal performance, a type case considered is finite-length fin with insulated tip. The dimensionless temperature profile has been obtained for different Rayleigh numbers, convection–conduction parameter, Surface-ambient radiation parameter and Hartman number. The present results are easily shows that despite its simplicity, CM and HAM offers superior accuracy compared with BVP
