This work aims at evaluating the possibility of removing oil contaminated seawater using natural sorbents the sorption properties of the sorbents can be significantly improved by making the surface hydrophobic and relive low density (often less than 0.1 g cm-3) toward oil and water. In this study we prepared natural sorbents (Rice straw, rice bran and saw dust) and adsorption properties for oil removal from seawater were investigated. The sorption of oil pollution by batch method is carried out. The effect of contact time, amount of adsorption, temperature of process and effect of surface’s adsorbents were also studied and found that the result of oil adsorption for sawdust 3.8 gram of oil per gram of sorbent. Structure in the adsorbing materials improves the oil adsorption capability. The pores surface of the saw dusts are used to be followed an increased oil adsorption. This natural sorbent is significantly Hydrophobic and does not get more wet with water, Lignocellulose is the main component in rice straw, which is a compact structure of cellulose (28-36%) and hemicelluloses (23-28%) in close association with lignin (12-16%) .The former two components are hydrophilic, and the latter is hydrophobic. There by offering potential for the better utilization of Cheap waste materials as natural sorbents in oil cleanup.
