The photocatalytic degradation of 2-nitrotoluene in aqueous solution using the ZnS-NiS-NCP catalyst under UV irradiation was found to be an efficient technique. The degradation process obeyed firstorder kinetics. The COD and HPLC tests were also used to confirm the degradation extent of the pollutant so the peak intensity of HPLC chromatogram and remained COD of the irradiated suspensions were decrease during the photodegradation experiments due to degrading the pollutant molecules.
