Silver alumina and silver alumina doped platinum catalysts were prepared with freeze drying method toinvestigate the catalytic reduction of NOx. The samples were characterized by N2 sorption to determine the surface areaand the catalytic property is determined with flow reactor experiment. Both catalysts showed good conversion rates at350 °C. Furthermore H2 and HC were added to the exhaust gases as reduction agents to enhance the reduction of NOx.The platinum containing catalyst exhibited lower surface area but with a higher activity.
