چکیده

Objectives: Fascia is a continuous connective tissue network that plays a vital role in musculoskeletal function by supporting structural integrity, force transmission, and proprioceptive regulation. This study aims to investigate the role of fascia in musculoskeletal dysfunctions and motor control. Methods: A narrative review was conducted using a structured search strategy across databases including PubMed, ScienceDirect, Google Scholar, and Scopus (۲۰۱۰-۲۰۲۴). Keywords included 'fascia,' 'myofascial chains,' 'fascial dysfunction,' 'musculoskeletal pain,' and 'manual therapy.' Studies were selected based on their focus on the structural role of fascia, fascial pathology, and clinical treatment approaches. Results: Findings indicate that fascia serves not only as a passive support structure but also as an active element in movement coordination and pain modulation. Dysfunctional fascia, particularly in the deep layers, can disrupt force transmission and proprioception, leading to chronic pain and restricted mobility. Conclusion: Fascia is a crucial component of musculoskeletal health, with dysfunctions playing a central role in many chronic pain conditions. Recognition of its biomechanical and sensory functions supports the integration of fascia-specific assessment and treatment into clinical practice. Further research is needed to optimize therapeutic approaches and validate their efficacy across diverse patient populations.
