چکیده
This paper presents a comprehensive interdisciplinary analysis of lithium-air (Li–air) batteries as a transformative energy storage technology for smart architectural spaces. Amid escalating environmental pressures and increasing demands for energy autonomy, Li–air batteries offer unparalleled energy density and integration potential. The study proposes a novel theoretical framework—Architecture as a Vital-Energetic System—in which buildings evolve from static structures to living, metabolic entities capable of producing, storing, and managing energy organically. Within this framework, Li–air batteries serve as architectural lungs, embedded in building envelopes or facades, enabling distributed and self-sufficient energy ecosystems.Beyond technical feasibility, the paper examines the multifaceted impacts of Li–air integration across economic, social, technological, environmental, security, and ethical dimensions. Economically, the long-term potential of reduced levelized cost of storage (LCOS) positions Li–air batteries as strong alternatives to current lithium-ion systems. Socially, their deployment raises critical questions of energy justice, access, and digital literacy. Technologically, the synergy of artificial intelligence, self-healing materials, and real-time data architecture enhances operational efficiency and resilience. Environmentally, while Li–air batteries support decarbonization and renewable integration, their sustainability hinges on life cycle assessments and recycling infrastructure.Ethically and philosophically, the study engages with Islamic environmental values such as Khilafah (stewardship), Mizan (balance), and Israf (avoidance of waste) to ensure cultural congruence and responsible innovation in Muslim-majority contexts. The paper calls for robust governance, inclusive policies, and interdisciplinary education to bridge technological potential with societal values. Ultimately, Li–air batteries in architecture not only reshape energy infrastructure but also redefine the role of buildings in creating a just, intelligent, and sustainable future.کلیدواژه ها
