چکیده

The present research was designed to examine more extensively the bilingual brain and interaction between bilingualism and intelligence. Some others studies found thatbilinguals performed significantly better than monolinguals on both verbal and nonverbal intelligence tests. It is argued that they have a language asset, are more facile at conceptformation, and have a greater mental flexibility. The results of this research and the viewof some other articles which is are discussed in this research show that the bilinguals appear to have a more diversified set of mental abilities than the monolinguals andspeaking two languages rather than just one has obvious practical benefits in an increasingly globalized world. But in recent years, scientists have begun to show that theadvantages of bilingualism are even more fundamental than being able to converse with a wider range of people. Being bilingual, it turns out, makes you smarter. It can have a profound effect on your brain, improving cognitive skills not related to language and even shielding against dementia in old age
