چکیده

Background and aim: Governments play an important role in protecting children's right to nutrition as a fundamental human right recognized in Article ۲۴ of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC). Despite global commitments, malnutrition affects millions of children under five worldwide, with devastating consequences for their health and development. This article examines the responsibilities of governments in policymaking and program implementation, highlights challenges such as economic constraints and socio-cultural barriers, and offers strategies to overcome these challenges, including innovative solutions and strengthening food security. The findings of this paper provide practical recommendations for improving global efforts to ensure nutrition as a cornerstone of child well-being. Method: The present research is a descriptive-analytical study, based on the library method for data collection. Secondary research forms the basis of this study and includes data from reliable sources such as UNICEF, the World Health Organization, and reputable scientific journals. The analysis includes case studies from different regions to illustrate challenges and solutions in real contexts. Results: Successful programs such as Bolsa Familia in Brazil show that conditional cash transfers combined with nutrition education reduce nutritional stunting by up to ۵۰%. However, poor governance and policymaking, as well as a lack of funding, remain major obstacles. Conclusion: Governments should adopt multisectoral and rights-based approaches, such as strengthening legal frameworks and international cooperation, to achieve Sustainable Development Goal ۲ (SDG - Zero Hunger).
