چکیده
Background: Effectively addressing pressure ulcers is essential to prevent complications such as infection, sepsis, and extended hospital stays. A chitosan-based powder dressing was designed for complicated cavity pressure ulcers, offering accelerated skin regeneration and antibacterial and anti-biofilm properties. This study aims to assess the performance of the NanoExpo powder dressing (Nano Narin Teb Co., Iran) in managing pressure ulcers. Methods: This study enrolled ۱۷ patients with pressure ulcers of varying stages. Their wounds were treated over ۱۲ weeks, with assessments of wound volume, tissue type, infection rates, and exudation recorded weekly using wound evaluation forms and digital photography. Results: After an average of ۷۰.۱۲±۴۲.۰۴ days, half of wounds were completely healed. There was a significant reduction in wound volume (p < ۰.۰۵), decreasing from ۳۰۰.۷۸±۳۹.۷۸ ml at week zero to ۴.۲۸±۰.۸۶ ml by the study's conclusion. The proportion of epithelialized tissue increased significantly (p < ۰.۰۵), from ۱۱.۱۷±۶.۷۳% initially to ۷۵±۳۰.۶۶% after ۱۲ weeks. Slough tissue decreased from ۴۸.۸۲±۲۶.۳۷% at week zero to ۵.۵۸±۶.۲۵% at week ۱۲. The NanoExpo dressing reduced the percentage of infected wounds from ۹۴% to ۲۳.۵۲% (p < ۰.۰۵) and decreased exudate levels by ۶۷.۸۵%. Conclusion: The multifunctional NanoExpo powder dressing improved wound healing parameters, demonstrating its potential as an effective therapeutic intervention for pressure ulcers.کلیدواژه ها
