چکیده
Wound management is a major challenge worldwide, placing a huge financial burden on governments in every country. In the United States alone, these injuries affect approximately ۲.۴ to ۴.۵ million people. Foot and leg ulcers affect many adults with diabetes or vascular disease and are often attributed to muscle weakness, arterial disease, or chronic venous insufficiency prolonged neuropathy or pressure. Wound dressing that can aid in wound healing has been the subject of researches for a long time. Conventional dressings, such as hydrogels, bandages, and foam, do not help heal wounds as effectively as previously thought because they cannot respond well to the wound healing process. Various biomaterials have been used as biological medications for wound regeneration. For several decades, human amniotic membrane (hAM) transplantation has been widely used to treat acute and chronic wounds. The amniotic membrane (AM) or amnion is a thin membrane located in the fetal placenta; it completely surrounds the embryo and limits the amniotic cavity, which is filled with amniotic fluid. AM is an attractive graft method for wounds because it has unique properties, including anti-inflammatory, bacteriostatic, wound protection, scar and pain reduction, as well as ability to initiate epithelialization. It also has low immunogenicity, biocompatibility, suitable mechanical properties and good cellular adhesion and it is a source of cytokines, growth factors, and hAM cells with stem cell properties.کلیدواژه ها
