چکیده

Aim: The fusion of supernumerary teeth to mandibular incisors is rare. This case study presents the management of a child with mandibular permanent central incisors affected by fusion to supernumerary teeth, leading to delayed eruption. Case Report: An ۸-year-old girl with no medical history was referred for evaluation. Clinical and radiographic examinations revealed that two supernumerary teeth were fused to the buccal aspects of the mandibular permanent central incisors, with the incisal portions erupting into the buccal gingiva. The treatment involved surgically removing the supernumerary teeth. They were separated from the permanent incisors using an elevator and then extracted. Then, an allogeneic graft (Regan Allograft, Iran) was placed in the remaining bone cavity, a membrane was applied over it, and the flap was sutured. After six months, a periodontal ligament space around the incisors was obvious, the patient’s gingival pain had resolved, and there was no bleeding on probing.  Conclusion: The existence of one or more supernumerary teeth usually leads to occlusal and functional problems and interference with tooth eruption. Early detection of supernumerary teeth is the preferred approach, as their removal can eliminate obstacles to tooth eruption, increasing the possibility of spontaneous eruption. In mixed dentition, patients have a favorable prognosis, experiencing minimal alveolar bone loss around supernumerary teeth, as spontaneous eruption is more probable.
