Abstract
This research paper investigates the role of innovative questioning techniques through games in English language classrooms. As educators increasingly face the challenge of maintaining student attention and participation, game-based learning strategies have emerged as a powerful solution. Questioning is a central element in teaching, and when integrated with engaging games, it can stimulate critical thinking, enhance vocabulary acquisition, and build speaking confidence in ESL learners. This paper presents a review of existing literature and practical applications, comparing traditional methods with digital and non-digital games like Kahoot!, Quizizz, role-playing, and board games. Data collected from classroom observations, teacher feedback, and student performance assessments suggests that game-based questioning significantly boosts learner motivation, supports cooperative learning, and improves classroom dynamics. Furthermore, theoretical frameworks such as constructivism and social learning theory support the educational value of these strategies. This paper concludes that thoughtful integration of games aligned with learning objectives can transform ESL classrooms into active, student-centered learning environments
