چکیده

Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) is characterized by impulsivity, emotional instability, and challenges in maintaining stable relationships. Individuals with BPD often experience intense swings and fear of abandonment, and they engage in self-destructive behaviors. They may exhibit extreme reactions, such as suicide threats or self-harm, in response to perceived separation and have a pattern of unstable relationships marked by idealizing and devaluing others. Additionally, BPD can involve identity disturbances, chronic emptiness, and intense rage. It frequently coexists with other disorders, including depression, anxiety, and substance use, complicating diagnosis and treatment. People with BPD tend to have shorter, more tumultuous romantic relationships marked by poor communication and frequent breakups. Gender differences are noted, with women reporting more relational difficulties, possibly linked to early trauma and attachment issues. Effective treatment, including therapy and support from loved ones, can help improve relationship stability and overall well-being. Understanding the genetic, neurological, and environmental factors contributing to BPD is essential for better treatment outcomes. In this article, relationships in which one partner is diagnosed with borderline personality disorder are examined.
