چکیده مقاله:

Having a child with an intellectual disability cannot hide facts such as the effects of social isolation in the family, especially mothers who have children with intellectual disability, also of the Down syndrome type. The present research was conducted in order to investigate the effect of spiritual-religious group therapy in increasing the self-esteem of women with children with Down syndrome. A number of ۲۲ mothers with Down syndrome children were selected based on the research criteria and were randomly divided into two experimental and control groups. The experimental group went through a ۱۲-session course of learning the spiritual and religious teachings of Prophetic teachings, and the control group was not exposed to any independent variables. Both groups were measured before, after, and one month after the end of the treatment by the Rogers test. The results showed that in line with the research hypothesis, after the end of the treatment, the self-esteem level of the research group was significantly different from the control group. Also, the average self-esteem of the research group increased significantly after the implementation of the independent variable compared to before implementation. The result of this research shows that the endless sea of prophetic knowledge is like a lantern, a perfect guide for tolerance and patience, and self-esteem.
