Factors and Effects of Hoarding and Coping Strategies Using Prophetic Knowledge

Hoarding, as one of the examples of economic corruption, is always recognized as a morally reprehensible phenomenon in societies and makes the economic foundation of the society incapable of balanced development, and finally, while disrupting the general economic rules, it puts the people of the society in a livelihood crisis. Therefore, while denying this act, the Holy Prophet (PBUH) introduced it as a great sin and warned people about its material and spiritual consequences. In order to better understand this phenomenon, it is necessary that the factors affecting its formation as well as the socio-economic effects that it brings are scientifically analyzed and a solution should be provided by taking advantage of the prophetic teachings and the experiences of human societies in order to deal with it. The current research explores this issue by using the descriptive-analytical research method and through the collection of library data. The findings of this research show that some people, with the intention of increasing personal profit and abusing special economic situations and due to weakness in faith and moral indicators such as: trusting in God, preparing good deeds for the Day of Judgment, not respecting the earning of a halal sustenance, helping others, and self-sacrifice, take this action and harm the material and spiritual atmosphere of society and themselves. Referring to the teachings of the Prophet makes it clear that the Islamic government needs for fighting this phenomenon, while designing a legal system appropriate to the type of corruption and providing the necessary guarantees for its implementation, with the participation of the general public, to create a culture in the field of individual and social behaviors and to institutionalize the moral system in such a way that the individual motivations for the occurrence of such behavior are basically destroyed.
