خلاصه مقاله:
Under the working conditions of solid oxide fuel cells, Ferritic stainless steels form a chromiascale that has low electrical conductivity and therefore, the efficiency of these energyconvertors can decrease. One approach to improve interconnect properties is to apply surfacecoating. In this study UNS 430 ferritic stainless steel was coated in a manganese-base packmixture by pack cementation. The effect of oxide thickness on the electrical conductivity wasinvestigated by applying isothermal oxidation at 800°C This effect was also investigated indifferent temperatures (400 – 800 ºC). The formation of Mn3O4 and MnFe2O4 nano spinelsduring oxidation improved electrical conductivity of coated samples. Results showed that theincrease of isothermal oxidation time and increase of temperature, increased the oxidethickness and therefore the electrical conductivity deceased.
