چکیده مقاله:

Gardner's Multiple Intelligences theory presents a cognitive perspective on intelligence in which students are considered as unique learners who possess different intelligences in varying degrees and use different learning styles. Each individual manifests varying levels of these different intelligences. In this theory, Gardner(1999) identifies nine intelligences, including verbal-linguistic, logical-mathematical, spatial-visual, musical, bodily-kinesthetic, interpersonal, intrapersonal, naturalistic and existential intelligences. This theory has led to the application of MI-based activities in foreign language teaching and learning. In this paper the use of multiple intelligences to promote syllabus designing and class activities based on this theory has been studied. The first part presents the theory of multiple intelligences and it's relation with learning a foreign language. The second part discusses practical approaches to apply MI-based activities in teaching English as a foreign language. Curriculum developers and syllabus designers can take the effectiveness of these activities into consideration during the curriculum development process
