چکیده

Urban governance plays a crucial role in achieving regional sustainable development. In this context, citizen participation and the utilization of new technologies can enhance decision-making processes, increase transparency, and improve urban management efficiency. This study aims to examine urban governance strategies for regional sustainable development by analyzing the role of citizen participation and innovative technologies in this process. The research adopts a descriptive-analytical approach, utilizing library studies and an analysis of global experiences to gather necessary data. The findings indicate that the application of new technologies such as Geographic Information Systems (GIS), the Internet of Things (IoT), and digital participatory platforms significantly enhance citizen engagement and urban management effectiveness. Moreover, participatory governance models with a focus on innovative approaches contribute to improving urban quality of life, increasing social resilience, and fostering regional sustainability. The results suggest that successful regional sustainable development requires integrated policymaking, smart technology utilization, and strengthened participatory frameworks between local governments and citizens. Ultimately, implementing practical solutions for adopting new technologies and encouraging citizen participation can lead to more effective and sustainable urban governance.
