خلاصه مقاله:
This paper presents the performance evaluation of semi-active control approach in response reduction of irregular L-shaped buildings combined with MR dampers. Three full-scale 3D 5, 9 and 13-storey Linear, lumped-parameter building models are considered. Utilizing the same device placement pattern for all the models, records from six ground motion data are applied separately for each one and corresponding uncontrolled structure responses are used to design an appropriate fuzzy-logic controller which is able to gain the full capabilities of MR dampers. Equations of motion for the buildings equipped with the devices, exhibiting coupled lateral and torsional motions are employed to evaluate the control system through a computer simulation on MATLAB.The results indicate that the proposed semi-active control system could effectively reduce both torsional and lateral displacements of the example buildings.
