خلاصه مقاله:
In this document, a boundary element formulation was presented to analyze the valley shaped topography features in the time domain. Despite the carried out studies by time-domain boundary element method (BEM) for the seismic analysis of topography features, the smooth ground surface was not required to discretize and the valley surface need only to be meshed. Reducing the time of analysis, the exact satisfaction of stress-free condition on the ground surface and facilitating the models were the specification of the presented formulation. To demonstrate the applicability and efficiency of prepared algorithm, a semi-circle valley due to vertically propagating incident SH waves was solved and compared with those of the published works. The results showed that the accuracy of reported formulation was very good and could be used for the seismic analysis of valley shaped features by time-domain BEM.
