This research investigates an innovative strategy for the effective storage and utilization of electricity generated from photovoltaic (PV) panels in Tehran, Iran, in order to reach near-zero energy buildings. The study begins by modeling the electricity load of a building, determined to be approximately ۲۰۰ kWh per day, using SketchUp. Calculations are conducted using the OpenStudio plug-in and EnergyPlus software, with the results analyzed in TRNSYS. The designed system comprises PV panels, an inverter, a battery, and a controller that operates based on real-time weather data obtained from local weather stations. The controller assesses the relationship between the generated solar energy and the building's energy demand across different seasons. During the summer, solar panels supply approximately ۳۰% of the electricity load, batteries contribute about ۵۳%, and grid power covers the remaining ۱۷%. In contrast, during winter, the reliance on solar energy decreases to ۲۲%, and battery contributions accounting for ۳۸%. This integrated approach not only enhances energy efficiency in the building but also promotes the adoption of renewable energy sources, significantly reducing reliance on the grid. The findings highlight the potential benefits of combining solar energy with battery storage solutions to optimize energy management in urban environments, demonstrating the system's adaptability to seasonal variations in energy demand and generation.
