چکیده

Buckling braced frames are one of the most widely used concentric braced frames (CBF) due to their numerous advantages in building designs. Seismic behavior of buckling braced frames includes bending caused by strong motion And then there is a vertical unbalanced force between the tensile strength and the compressive strength, which leads to the imposition of excess load on the beams. Therefore, the beams should be designed in such a way that it has sufficient resistance to ensure that the joint does not produce. In this research, a series of finite element analysis has been carried out to evaluate the earthquake resistance performance of the methods to design the open distance of fasteners in buckling braced frames and vertical unbalanced forces according to the cross-section size of the beams. It is stated that the results of the vertical unbalanced forces equation are more conservative than the load generated through the real analysis model according to the existing standards. In addition, the design model of the oval span shows a higher earthquake resistance compared to the linear span, which requires considerations and improvements in the existing methods of calculating unbalanced vertical forces.
