Appropriate governance of the government: A step towards the entrepreneurship of agricultural universities in Iran

چکیده

The aim of the present study was to determine the appropriate governance indicators of government for entrepreneurship of agricultural universities in Iran. A qualitative research method and case study were used to conduct this research. Purposeful sampling was conducted using the snowballing technique and a total of ۱۶ faculty key informants were interviewed. As a result, ۲۱ concepts were identified in ۵ categories of governance. The categories included quality of rules and regulations, rule of law, accountability, political stability and the effectiveness of government. Faculty key informants believed that the rules and regulations passed in institutions outside the university always play a crucial role in determining the goals and execution policies of a university. They were of the opinion that the rule of law reduces uncertainties. Experts explained that in societies where citizens enjoy more civil liberties, governments are more responsive to people's basic needs. This is because they will opt for policies that promote the accumulation of social capital. Also, the change of government policies in line with entrepreneurship and political stability is effective for the entrepreneurship of agricultural universities. In the end, suggestions will be made based on the results.
