Fluorescent Carbon Dots (CDs) have gained paramount interest in chemical biological and biomedicalfields. In this work, in vitro molecular interaction of green synthesized CDs (g-CDs) with humanhemoglobin (HHb) have been systematically studied by fluorescence spectroscopy technique underphysiological conditions. It was found that the intrinsic fluorescence of g-CDs was quenched by theaddition of HHb and the quenching mechanism was considered as static quenching by formation of aHHb-(g-CDs) complex. The binding constant was about ۱۰۸ M−۱ at room temperature. The values of thecalculated thermodynamic parameters (ΔH۰ < ۰ and ΔS۰ > ۰) suggested that both hydrogen bonds and thehydrophobic interactions were involved in the binding process.
