چکیده

This study explored the development of biodegradable film blends for potential food packagingapplications. Poly(butylene succinate) (PBS) and poly(butylene adipate-co-terephthalate) (PBAT)were melt-blended at varying weight ratios (PBS:PBAT-۱۵:۸۵, ۳۰:۷۰, and ۴۵:۵۵). ¹HNMRspectroscopy confirmed the occurrence of transesterification reaction, particularly in the ۳۰:۷۰ blend.Tensile testing revealed improved flexibility for the ۳۰:۷۰ blend, suggesting its suitability for foodpackaging. Biodegradation testing in a buffer saline solution demonstrated a faster degradation ratefor the ۳۰:۷۰ blend, attributed to its lower crystallinity and higher hydrophilicity compared to othercompositions. These findings highlight the potential of tailoring the properties of biodegradableblends through controlled composition and processing for sustainable food packaging applications.
