Lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) are considered one of the most advanced rechargeable batteries. Theelectrolyte is one of the main parts of the LIBs and greatly affects the safety and conductivity of thelithium-ion in the battery. To avoid the damages caused by this phenomenon, self-healing polymerelectrolytes has been considered. This study aims to investigate how the chemistry of the hardsegment affects the electrochemical performance of self-healing polyurethane-based polymerelectrolytes in LIBs. For this purpose, hexamethylene diisocyanate (HDI), toluene diisocyanate(TDI), and isophorone diisocyanate (IPDI) were used to design and synthesize the hard segment ofSPUH, SPUT, and SPUI self-healing polyurethanes, respectively. Analysis of synthesized samplesby Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) confirmed the successful synthesis ofpolyurethanes. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) results showed ionic conductivity of۰. ۸, and ۰.۸۲ mS/cm for SPUH, SPUT and SPUI electrolytes, respectively. Theelectrochemical stability of prepared polymer electrolytes was evaluated by linear sweepvoltammetry (LSV) and revealed the order of SPUI> SPUH> SPUT.
