چکیده

Biodegradable and biocompatible films based on polyvinyl alcohol and corn starch with sorbitolsoftener and additives were made by the method of extrusion and blowing film. By increasing theamount of sorbitol, the solubility of the film in water increased. Elongation at break increased andtensile strength decreased. A decrease in glass transition temperature, storage modulus and meltingtemperature was observed. Due to its softening effect, sorbitol causes an increase in free volume,greater mobility of molecules, and therefore better penetration of water into the film and improvedsolubility. This feature helps to use this film with water solubility property.
