چکیده

Epoxy resins have gained wide acceptance in the surface coatings industry due to their exceptionalcombination of properties such as toughness, adhesion, chemical resistance and superior electricalproperties. Incorporating ABS, a hard and resilient polymer, into epoxy resin can significantlyenhance its mechanical strength, impact resistance, and fatigue resistance. In this study, structuralchanges resulting from adding ABS to epoxy resin at various compositions are investigated usingFourier Transform Infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy. According to the obtained results, ABS physicallyand chemically interacts with the epoxy structure, potentially leading to the breaking of molecularand chemical bonds in specific regions of the epoxy structure. Thereby reducing the intensity of thepeaks associated with hydrogen bonds and epoxy bonds observed in the regions of ۳۴۲۶ cm⁻¹, ۱۰۳۴cm-۱ and ۱۱۸۰ cm-۱.
